What is a CLEP exam?

CLEP exams give you the opportunity to obtain college credit for learning obtained outside the conventional college/university classroom.

Does your test center offer the CLEP exam?

Yes, we offer the CLEP exam at Aims Community College. Testing is by appointment only. For further information or to make an appointment, please call (970) 339-6533 for the Greeley Campus, (970) 667-4611 ext. 3312 for the Loveland Campus and (303) 857-4022 ext. 4303 for the Fort Lupton Campus.

Will I receive credit for taking the CLEP?

According to the College Board, each college sets its own policy regarding courses for which they will grant credit, as well as how many credits will be awarded. Contact the Admissions and Records office at the institution where you are planning on attending. At Aims, applications for credit by examination are available in the Admissions and Records Office.

Can you retest on a CLEP exam?

Yes, however, examinations may not be repeated within six months of the testing date.

How do I prepare to take a CLEP exam?

  • Study the textbook used by your college for the corresponding course.
  • Additional study material can be found in public or school libraries.
  • Utilize the Official Study Guide for CLEP, which contains information on all 34 CLEP exams.
  • Individual subject guides can also be purchased at the CLEP web site.
