GREELEY, CO – October 5, 2017 – The Aims Community College Board of Trustees has approved a two-year contract extension for President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein through June 30, 2020.
Under college policy, the Board of Trustees perform an annual review and evaluation of the performance of the College president. The extension of the president’s contract is linked to this evaluation.
“I am honored and thrilled to continue to serve such an outstanding institution and community.” said Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “These past two years have been exciting with many significant College activities, including our 50th anniversary, re-accreditation, strategic planning, new and upgraded facilities, all with a focus on student success. And of course it’s been wonderful getting to know our outstanding employees, students and our community. I look forward to many more years together.”

Dr. Bornstein was named the sixth president and CEO of Aims Community College on August 1, 2015 by the Board of Trustees. She has dedicated more than 25 years to higher education in a variety of leadership and management roles. She holds degrees from Bradford College and the University of Vermont in addition to a doctorate from the University of Denver and an honorary doctorate from Northern Arizona University.

Board Treasurer Dr. Ray Peterson added, "Dr. Bornstein is the best president for a community college in the world. I'm glad she's here, and I really mean that."
