GREELEY, CO – August 30, 2017 – Aims Community College is planning for its next five years with a new 2018-2023 strategic plan. The Board of Trustees recently approved Aims’ new purpose, vision, mission and strategies. Aims Community College’s purpose, Build a Stronger Community, will help guide the college’s 2018-2023 strategic plan, which will go into effect on July 1, 2018.
Aims President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein said, “Community is why we exist and why we’re a community college. It’s at the heart of what we do, whether that’s offering high-quality, affordable education for students or partnering with local businesses to make the counties where we live even stronger.”
Aims’ new mission statement is to provide knowledge and skills to advance quality of life, economic vitality, and overall success of the diverse communities we serve.
“We spent a lot of time talking about our role in the community and came up with a short statement to communicate what we’re about,” said Aims Board of Trustees Chair Carol Ruckel. “The deliberateness in the Board of making statements that are inclusive of the diverse communities that we serve is so important because we have a lot of diversity in our communities. I’m very pleased with the outcome.”
