GREELEY, CO – October 28, 2018 – Aims Community College is both horrified and heartbroken by the senseless shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. We send our thoughts and prayers of compassion to the victims, their families, the injured police officers and to the larger Jewish community. We stand in grief and solidarity with the families of the victims of violence.
As we encourage each of our students toward their own success and support one another as colleagues and friends, we carry the hope each of us can make a difference to eradicate behavior motivated by anger, fear and hate. Aims continues to hold the light of celebrating humanity through learning about and including one another as we hold true to our commitment to the Aims values of community, equity, respect and inclusion. It is in this light we open the Aims Center for Diversity and Inclusion on Tuesday, October 30 at 11 a.m. in Ed Beaty Hall. Please join us in celebrating our similarities and differences in a true celebration of life.
