Criminal Justice, A.A. degree – 60 Credits

If your goal is to become a probation officer, parole officer or work in the federal criminal justice system, this is the degree for you.  It is state-guaranteed to transfer to any 4-year school within Colorado.

Degree Requirements for: Criminal Justice, A.A. (2 years)

Criminal Justice, A.A.S. degree – 60-63 Credits

Get started in a program that will help you obtain an entry level position in the criminal justice system or to obtain a promotion if you are already working in the system.  Our faculty have the knowledge and passion to facilitate student success.

Degree Requirements for: Criminal Justice, A.A.S. (2 years)

Police Studies, A.A.S. degree – 62 Credits

A great opportunity to continue on the educational path after the Basic Peace Officer Academy.  By completing this degree’s seven (7) general education components, an individual greatly enhances his/her ability to obtain a job in law enforcement.  This degree is also transferrable to CSU Global so that a student can receive their bachelor’s degree.

Certificates

Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate – 41 credits (2-semester certificate)

This is a state accredited police academy through the POST Board via the Colorado Attorney’s Office.  The Academy is required in order to become a certified police officer in the State of Colorado.  There is an application process required in order to have permission to go through this program.  An applicant must be at least 21 years of age.

Forensic Criminology Certificate – 31 credits (4-semester certificate)

A great opportunity to enhance one’s knowledge and ability to work in the forensic science field.  Usually taken in combination with the A.A.S. degree in Criminal Justice.

Criminal Justice Pathways Basic Certificate-Level I – 12 credits (2-semester certificate)

Geared toward high school students beginning on their path to a criminal justice degree while in high school.  These classes flow into either the A.A. Criminal Justice degree or the A.A.S. Criminal Justice degree.

Criminal Justice Pathways Basic Certificate-Level II – 12 credits (2-semester certificate)

Geared toward high school students who have achieved the Criminal Justice Pathways Basic Certificate – Level I and wish to continue working on the criminal justice degree while still in high school.
