A Guide for Responsible Re-entry to the Workspace
To help promote a healthy and safe environment Aims CC has established the following
guidelines for all employees, students, and vendors while on Campus. These guidelines
are based on information obtained from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the Weld County
Department of Health and Environment.

Social Distancing: Also called “physical distancing,” means keeping space between yourself and other
people outside of your home. Social Distancing practices must be maintained at all
times while on Campus. To practice social or physical distancing:
- Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people
- Do not gather in groups larger than 10 people
- Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings

Vulnerable Individuals: Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

Employees will be required to wear and provide your own mask
You can find instructions on how to make a cloth mask on YouTube.
It is recommended that you launder your cloth masks regularly.
Colorado.gov Mask Guidance
Before employees are allowed to return to Campus, the following steps must be taken.
- Employee questionnaire must be completed
- Employees will receive a questionnaire through your Aims email
- Completion of questionnaire may be required multiple times over the course of several
months
- Human Resources Approval
- HR will notify your supervisor if you are cleared to return to work
- Supervisor will notify employee
- If you have not received the questionnaire and believe the expectation is to return
to work, contact your supervisor
- Supervisors, please notify your Cabinet member if you need to add an employee to the
return list
NOTICE: All employees will be required to report to an Aims check-In station every day to be cleared for work on-site. Below are the expectations for check-in:
- Employees must wear a mask. https://covid19.colorado.gov/mask-guidance
- Employees must have either their Aims ID badge or Aims name tag with a valid Colorado
ID to enter any building.
- Employees must have their temperature checked prior to entering any building. Employees
with a temperature of 100.4 or above will be sent home and directed to immediately
notify their supervisor and Aims Human Resources.
- Employees cleared to enter will be issued a wristband. Wristbands are valid for day
of issue only.
- Buildings college-wide will have one main entry. All other exits will be for emergency
use only.
Employees will not be allowed to enter the workplace or return to Campus if exhibiting symptoms endemic of COVID-19 or if they have been in known contact with someone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or diagnosed with COVID-19.
Employees who have tested COVID-19 positive, or report any symptom of COVID-19, should
not return to the workplace until they are free of all symptoms for at least 72 hours,
without the use of any medication that might mask symptoms (i.e. fever-reducing medicine,
cough medicine, etc.). Some situations may require clearance from a medical provider.
All buildings will have one main entrance/exit
All other exterior building access doors will remain locked and not available with
an Aims Access Card.
DO NOT prop doors open or open a door to allow other individuals to enter. Contact
Security for assistance.

Building Access Outside of Operation Hours
- If you come on Campus Monday - Thursday before the opening of a Check-in Station,
you may begin to work; however, you mush check-in no later than 8:00 am.
- If you come on Campus when there is no Check-in Station open, you must call Security
at 970-539-2171 to be cleared to enter a building.
- The satellite campuses and the Aviation Flight Training Center will have limited options
for checking in outside of normal operating hours or hours listed above.
Additional stations will be added when available
Employees are required to report to their supervisor if they begin to feel ill while
at work or may have come into contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting
symptoms.
- Employees who report feeling ill or have any COVID-19 symptoms during the workday
should be separated from co-workers immediately, sent home, and, whenever possible,
be allowed to work from home.
- Access to the employee’s workspace should be limited and professionally sterilized
after business hours to prevent cross-contamination. Notify Campus Safety & Security
to request additional cleaning.

General Healthcare Guidelines
- Employees will be required to wear masks at all times when not working at their personal
workspace.
- Mask will need to be in place if someone enters your workspace.
- Employees will also be required to wear masks coverings when outdoors and cannot maintain
6 feet of separation between people.
- Employees who work in open or shared workspaces without sufficient partitioning will
be required to wear masks while at their workspace.
General Hygiene
- All employees are encouraged to wash their hands frequently.
- Limit access to others – practice social distancing.
- Employees should disinfect their personal workstations at the start and end of the
workday. More frequently if they work with other individuals at their workstation.
- Cleaning supplies will be provided by the employer
- The hand-passing/sharing of paper documents within the workplace should be eliminated,
whenever possible.
- Shared office equipment should be eliminated. Any shared equipment by employees should
be thoroughly cleaned after each use.
- Establish a 6-foot clearance around all front desk/reception locations, if applicable,
to assist with the practice of social distancing.
- Employees must wear gloves during a sale or exchange of any items (Money, Books, technology
equipment etc.)
- Gloves will be provided by the employer
How to Protect Yourself and Others
- Whenever possible, in-person meetings should be discontinued and replaced with virtual
meetings.
- If essential in-person meetings are needed these should be limited to (10) employees
only, and social distancing should be maintained.
- Employees should be aware of posted occupancy limits outside of each common area including
restrooms.
- No shared food and beverages will be allowed in meeting rooms.
- Masks are required in meetings unless social distancing can be maintained.
- Disinfect meetings rooms, particularly frequently touched surfaces, before and after
each use.
- Cleaning supplies will be provided by the employer
- Select your office supplies from the department supply pool and keep them for your
constant use and disinfecting to minimize cross-contamination.
- All shared equipment and collaboration tools and technology (touchpads, conference
phones, laptop plug-ins, etc.) and similar equipment should be cleaned by employees
after each use.
- Employees should be aware of posted occupancy limits outside of each common area,
including restrooms.
- Only one person on the elevator at a time, unless needed for assistance.
- Masks are required, unless eating – social distancing must be in place.
- Social distancing protocols at all times in all common areas.
- All employee food containers should be sanitized before storing in a common area.
Food stored in a common refrigerator should be sanitized and placed into clear sealed
plastic bags. A name and a date should be written on the bag. Food should not be stored
in the workplace for more than 24 hours.
- All shared equipment (Sinks, Microwaves, Refrigerators etc.) should be cleaned by
employees after each use.
- Minimize non-essential travel and adhere to CDC and local health department guidelines
regarding isolation after travel.
- Employees taking personal travel should adhere to CDC and local health department
guidelines regarding isolation after travel.
- Personal travel including domestic and international, within the last 14 days, must
be reported to Human Resources prior to returning to on-site work.
- Follow college approval process for work-related travel.
