The Behavioral Sciences Department at Aims Community College offers students a wide range of instructional opportunities. Behavioral sciences include the disciplines of counseling, psychology and sociology. Students who are already interested in careers in teaching, government/public service, psychology, counseling and other related subject areas will find courses at Aims pave the way to employment in those fields.

Psychology
The discipline of psychology is based on the scientific study of human behavior and thinking. The mission of the Aims Community College Department of Psychology is to engage students in meaningful participation with the educational process and in the discovery of psychological knowledge. We value students,faculty members, staff and administration from the diverse communities in which we exist. We actively support and strive to model the application of psychological knowledge toward the management of real-world environments and challenges and endeavor to promote effective citizenship in our society. Our intention is to create a culture that supports scientific inquiry and exploration of human behavior and thinking.
