Professional Background

Elicia began her educational career at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico where she graduated with a B.S. in Biology. She then was accepted in the Biomedical Sciences one-year accelerated master’s program at the University of Northern Colorado. Upon graduation she began her educational career as an instructor in secondary education and is now working in higher education.

She is excited to be working at Aims Community College and hopes to gain more experience along the way!

Personal Interests

Throughout her career she has stayed active in the community by promoting STEM careers to children in the community, running donation drives for people affected by the Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire in New Mexico, acting as science fair judge, and running college blood drives. 

She spends her free time enjoying the Colorado outdoors by hiking, camping, kayaking, and backpacking with her family. She is especially fond of identifying and collecting local wildflowers.
