The Peer Coaching program is dedicated to creating and sustaining a learning environment that supports the successful academic and social transition of all students into the Aims community. Peer coaches will promote a proactive approach to students' engagement in campus life as they adjust to college by offering support, information, and guidance.
Peer coaches have successfully navigated Aims classes, resources and policies and have a strong commitment to seeing their fellow peers succeed in their personal, professional and educational goals. Peer coaches provide 1-1 social and emotional support, connect students to on and off-campus resources, and provide academic coaching (time-management, test-taking and study skills, support for AimsOnline and other technology).
In response to the current status of COVID-19, the peer coaches will only be available
to meet with all students (regardless of home campus) virtually. Virtual coaching
sessions will take place via Zoom and will be set up by the peer coach.
Below are two options on how students can connect with a peer coach.
Option 1: Students can drop-in to chat with peer coaches via Zoom starting January 11 through April 30. Students interested in connecting with a peer coach via Zoom can email tyray.thompson@aims.edu via their Aims email account to request the Zoom link (note: students will need to include the day(s) of the week they plan on dropping in).
Day of the Week | Hours of Availability |

Monday | 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. | Virtual via Zoom |
