Our Writing Center, located in the Learning Commons, is staffed with a friendly, professional tutor team who want to help you develop the skills to write a clear and organized paper in all of your classes.
The Aims Writing Center was founded in 1986 with a mission to help students develop skills and confidence in all stages of the writing process. Tutors are available to work with students on brainstorming, research, outlining, drafting, and revision.
The Writing Center provides drop-in and scheduled tutoring appointments and embedded (classroom) tutoring. Additional resources include our Online Writing Lab—a repository of writing tips, exercises, and tutorials—and the Writers’ Community, which organizes writing skills workshops and events for students and faculty.
Students are also welcome to use the Writing Center as a place to sit and write.
The Aims OWL houses writing resources and advice on a variety of writing and grammar topics. Click here to start browsing the Online Writing Lab.
The Writers' Community offers seminars and writing workshops for both faculty and students, from Word Games to citations to grammar brush-ups. Click here for a schedule of upcoming events from the Writers' Community.
