GROW

Welcome to the Aims Leadership Institute: GROW (Getting Ready for Opportunities at Work). 

GROW is a prestigious and rigorous year-long initiative for select employees who are invested in their continuous growth and interested in expanding their leadership talent. It provides an excellent opportunity for those who want to lead more intentionally.

Participants engage in a comprehensive curriculum spread over six modules, which are facilitated by experts from leading organizations around the nation as well as experts from within the College. Each module provides insights, tools, and actionable strategies to enhance the leader’s effectiveness and impact to others.

Aims is excited to provide this amazing benefit for leaders and emerging leaders by investing over $7,000 per participant. 

Graduates of the Aims Leadership Institute: GROW:

  • Are recognized as Aims Best Practice Experts/Resources in leadership
  • Promote college-wide consistency and continuity in Aims leadership standards
  • Are awarded credit toward minimum qualifications for supervisory roles at Aims
  • Gain and enhance valuable leadership skills
  • Gain a broader perspective and ability to think strategically. This empowers them to set clear direction and to work with their teams to set clear goals.
  • Self-discovery: This program involves self-reflection exercises, helping leaders understand their strengths, opportunities and preferred leadership style. This self-awareness is crucial for effective leadership. 
  • Are champions of Aims culture and actively support BaJEDI 
  • Build trust and rapport with their team and gain skills for conflict resolution

How Are Participants Selected?

GROW is designed for leaders at all levels across the college. Participants in the pilot are selected for this program by Cabinet members in their divisions. Each annual cohort consists of up to 30 participants.

Program Modules

In this year-long program, participants will GROW together through 6 leadership modules culminating in a graduation celebration. Each module takes approximately 25-30 hours to complete and is covered over two months. Modules include group discussions, in-person training, reading and individual assignments. Participants will have the opportunity to design learning plans focused on areas of leadership that are most important to them and will have access to on-demand content to support their plans. In addition, they will work with an expert coach for intentional focus on their GROWth throughout the program. 

Intentional leaders with a clear vision of where they want to go and what they want to achieve need clarity on their top talents. This module provides insights into your top talents and opportunities for GROWth. You will develop a plan for intentional GROWth and begin working with your coach to reach your program goals.

GROW spans a year, with a Welcome Celebration in August 2024 and Graduation in August 2025 as follows:
