The goal of Women in Aviation is to encourage and help advance women in all aviation career fields and interests.

Membership in the Women in Aviation International organization allows students to become more active in the Aviation community and provides networking opportunities for those students seeking careers as pilots, air traffic controllers and more. 

The Aims Community College Chapter strives to encourage and educate all those involved in aviation and aerospace without regard to race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, or point of view.

Mobile Aviation Lab

the mobile aviation lab

Aims Community College was awarded $50,000 from the Colorado Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics. This funding supports the creation of a mobile aviation lab with industry equipment to promote careers in aviation and aerospace among Colorado K-12 students. The project is designed to encourage, empower and educate anyone interested in aviation and aerospace. 

The features of this lab include the following: 

  • virtual reality flight simulators,
  • air traffic control simulation,
  • unmanned aircraft simulators,
  • drones,
  • STEM-related activities.
