Professional Background
Carlee began teaching Anatomy & Physiology as an undergraduate TA at the University of Central Florida. It was there that she found her love for teaching, especially higher education in STEM. With a lifelong love of drawing, Carlee also studied studio art and enjoys using art in the classroom to illustrate complex physiological pathways and anatomical structures.
Knowing that she wanted to teach higher education, Carlee obtained her master's in Biological Sciences where she continued to TA as a graduate student and conducted research on Alzheimer’s disease for her thesis. After graduating, Carlee taught both part-time and full-time at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Carlee’s main educational interests include Anatomy & Physiology, Immunology, Pathophysiology, and General and Molecular Biology. She also enjoys introducing students to lab research and methodology, particularly microscopy.
After moving to Colorado in 2023, Carlee found a home at Aims Community College where she enjoys working with the incredible student population. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment for students to help them succeed in their academic and professional goals.
