The 2024 College for Kids (C4K) program registration opens on March 25. C4K is a summer program that provides an array of opportunities for learners nine to 12 years old.

“It presents a fun and interactive summer learning opportunity that develops kids’ skills and interests in pursuit of a future of their choosing,” C4K Program Coordinator Coordinator Kaley Bell said. Since 1981, Aims has offered kids a college-like experience. All classes are fun, captivating and hands-on.

“College for Kids sparks curiosity, ambition, and a love of learning that we hope will continue throughout their lives," said Dr. Leah L. Bornstein, Aims Community College CEO and president.

“We want their first experience on a college campus to be a positive one.”

The cost of tuition is $75 for the Greeley, Windsor and Loveland programs. Thanks to an anonymous donor, the program at Fort Lupton costs $25. C4K offers morning and afternoon classes, two snacks and lunch.

“Kids in every community that Aims serves get a chance to participate in this enriching and enlightening program. It’s a wonderful opportunity that touches the lives of families throughout our region,” said Dr. Gene O’Hara, secretary of the Aims Board of Trustees.

Each Aims campus hosts a four-day program in June.

  • Loveland: June 3-6
  • Fort Lupton: June 10-13
  • Windsor: June 17-20
  • Greeley: June 24 -27

Some of the most popular classes are Mad Science and Active Aardvarks. “Kids love experiments and sports,” Bell said. Classes also include Art Exploration, Dino World, Hawaiian Island Creations, Photography, Wilderness Survival and more.

Bell looks forward to the new classes offered this summer. One of those courses is Folklore and Literature. “It's fairy tales meeting modern things like Harry Potter and Disney movies,” Bell said.

A new Junior First Responder course is coming to C4K in Windsor. It explores being a firefighter, emergency medical technician and law enforcement officer. Another new session, Becoming Your Best Self, works on mental and physical health, interpersonal relationships and leadership skills.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 25, at aims.co/C4K. Space is limited and fills up fast. Review the class descriptions to help plan your child's schedule. If you have questions, email collegeforkids@aims.edu or call 970-330-8008.
