Before you can begin the program admission process, you must first apply to Aims for free.
To begin the admissions process and become certified as a medication aide in Colorado, you'll need to meet or complete the following prerequisites and requirements:
- Possess an active, unencumbered Colorado nurse aide certification
- Possess a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma
- Be no less than 18 years of age
- Complete no less than 1000 hours of documented work as a CNA within the last 24 months or the equivalent for individuals from the United States military
- Possess a recommendation to become a medication aide from the CNA’s current supervising nurse, director of nursing, or nursing home administrator
- Provide proof of completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program
- Pass a basic English and Math test, which will be administered on the first day of class
- Undergo a background check/Drug Screening (Student Pays Fee)
- Provide immunization records
