To be eligible for appointment, a candidate must be a registered elector (registered voter) of the Aims College District for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the date of appointment, a current resident of District E (comprised of School Districts RE-5J [Johnstown, Milliken] and RE-6 [Greeley, Evans]), and 18 years or older. In addition, the individual must consent to a criminal background check.
Any person who meets the qualifications and who desires to be considered for the appointment is invited to submit a letter of interest including a biographical statement, why they are interested in the position, and any previous board experience. Submit the letter of interest to the Board Liaison, Jerry Harvey, by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 15, by email (jerry.harvey@aims.edu) or at the President’s Office at Aims Community College, Ed Beaty Hall, Room 103, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
Upon submission of the letter of interest, applicants will be asked to fill out a sworn affidavit attesting to the qualifications for office as well as consent to a criminal background check. The Board will meet with prospective candidates in late June. The specific date and time will be set soon. The appointment will be made at a Special Board Meeting soon thereafter.
