In Memory of Aims Board of Trustees Member John W. Haefeli

“He made a lasting impact with his leadership, passion and commitment to the students, the college and the whole community,” said Marilyn Schock, Chair of the Aims Board of Trustees. “John will be missed.”
John, who joined the Board of Trustees in 2023, strongly advocated for education. He often referred to Aims as a “hidden gem” and believed fervently in the importance of expanding choices and access for all learners. His influence extended beyond Aims, as he was actively involved in several other organizations across northern Colorado, such as Catholic Charities, United Way of Weld County, CHSAA Foundation and many others. His presence was felt wherever compassion and leadership were needed.
John was a dedicated public servant, a deeply respected educator, and a passionate advocate for students and the community. His roots in Greeley, where he was born and raised, were deep. He brought a lifetime of service, teaching middle and high school social studies in District 6, serving on the D6 Board of Education, and leading teacher preparation efforts at UNC following retirement. He and his wife, Delia, have 77 years of teaching and coaching experience, a testament to their dedication.
John Haefeli left a meaningful legacy at Aims and in the broader Northern Colorado community. He will be deeply missed.
