The Campus Activities Programming (CAP) Board enhances the educational environment at Aims by providing free events focused on holistic wellness, awareness-raising and community-building. CAP events take place on all campuses and cover topics ranging from physical and emotional wellness, multiculturalism and diversity, and pure fun and entertainment.
Campus Activities Programming Board (CAP)

CAP Programming Assistants plan educational and fun events for the Aims student body. They follow a holistic wellness model in their programming and are required to plan events from a variety of aspects of wellness – from physical to emotional to multicultural to intellectual. Additionally, Programming Assistants will work with their supervisors to plan fun community-building events such as concerts and movie nights.

- Follow a Holistic Wellness model to plan events within your focus area from a variety of aspects of wellness.
- Complete the NASPA Certified Peer Education Training in order to be eligible to sit for the certification exam and gain knowledge related to best practices in awareness/prevention/education student activities.
- Collaborate with Media Specialist to create/distribute inclusive marketing to promote student programs.
- Complete Safe Zone Training.
- Attend diversity, equity and inclusion training.
- Seek out and develop partnerships with campus departments, administration, faculty, staff, student organizations, and community resources to provide students with a broad array of activities.
- Research, contact, and negotiate with performers, vendors, and speakers to provide relevant and engaging student programming.
- Manage and track their respective budgets.
- Support and contribute to their team members program planning and implementation.
- Actively participate in recruiting student volunteers to support the implementation of student activities and promote a sense of community and belonging.
- Hold a 2.8 minimum GPA from the most recent school attended and maintain at least a 2.5 semester GPA while in the position.
- Enroll in 6+ credits during Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters.
- Must have a desire to represent student interests, serve in a leadership capacity, and learn a variety of leadership and communication skills.
- Must possess a willingness to work collaboratively with other students and Aims staff, faculty, and administrators to advance the ASACC and Aims missions.
- Must demonstrate commitment to equity, inclusion, and justice and openness to learn, reflect, and grow as an inclusive, socially responsible leader.
- Candidates will be subject to a background check like all Aims employees. Any events that appear on a background check will be individually discussed with Human Resources and the Director of Student Leadership to determine eligibility.
- Commit to working a minimum of ten (10) hours per week and a maximum of twenty (25) hours per week during Fall/Spring semesters and at least ten (10) hours per week (maximum of 20 hours/week) in summer (May 25, 2023 - August 21, 2023).
Mental Health and Wellness
This position will plan and implement student programs with a focus on mental health, well-being, and resources. Topics may include awareness, prevention, and reducing the stigma related to suicide, self-harm, depression, etc. This position will collaborate with various campus departments, faculty, and community/state/national resources to implement engaging, informative and evidence-based programs.
Sexual Identity, Health and Violence Prevention
This position will plan and implement student programs with a focus on prevention, awareness, and resources in a balanced manner (i.e. safe sex, abstinence, reproductive health, STI’s, etc.) related to sexual well-being as well as collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator on Title IX topics (relationship violence, stalking, date rape, etc.). This position will also take into account the diverse identities of students by offering activities that raise awareness across many intersectional identities.
Family and Evening Programs
This position will plan and implement student programs with a focus on activities that include student’s families and/or provide activities to meet the needs of evening students such as the annual Trick or Treat Track event.
Voter Registration and Community Engagement
This position will be the student representative on election engagement initiatives/committees aimed at increasing voter registration and election knowledge among students. Duties may include offering activities related to current events, speakers, and raising awareness about opportunities related to and volunteer opportunities such as Weld County Food Bank, Weld County Humane Society, etc.
Substance Use & Campus Recovery Initiatives
This position will plan and implement activities focused on raising awareness, prevention, resources, education and recovery support related to alcohol and other drugs. This position will serve on the Recovery Steering Committee, seek out and administer programs based on best practices to reduce stigma and promote harm reduction efforts. Examples of activities may include Recovery Celebrations, Narcan Trainings, Recovery Allyship Trainings, etc.
Leadership Development Initiatives
This position will plan and implement activities focused on leadership development, including leadership styles, social identities (race, sex, religions, etc) & leadership, leadership for social change, leadership as service, and more. This position will support existing student leadership initiatives and research and develop new opportunities for Aims students to discover and develop their leadership potential. Examples of activities may include Induction Ceremony for the National Society for Leadership & Success (NSLS), Student Club Officer workshops, leadership workshops, a Day of Service, etc.
Fort Lupton Campus Activities Board Member
This position will plan and implement a variety of student programs focused on the student population on the Fort Lupton Campus.
Loveland/Virtual Programs
This position will serve students on the Loveland campus to offer on campus activities as well as research and seek out best practices to engage students in a virtual environment to provide distance learners a sense of community and belonging.

This position will collaborate with the Hunger-Free Campus Initiative to provide workshops/events for students focused on nutrition, addressing food insecurity, and raising awareness about resources and adoption of healthy lifestyles. Duties will include assisting with co-hosting workshops, recruiting faculty/staff/speakers to facilitate, planning and promotion of workshops/events.
- Collaborate with the Hunger Free Campus Student Advisory Council to plan, promote, and execute events and programs on campus to maintain our Hunger Free Campus designation.
- Assist with Arty’s Pantry inventory purchasing, procurement, and tracking.
- Meet with Weld Food Bank Farms to Families Food truck on scheduled visit days to complete intake forms and assist with food distribution.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers to help with donation drives, unloading inventory deliveries, and other events/programs that may require assistance.
