Professional Background

Carolyn began teaching at Aims Community College part-time in January of 2016 and full-time in August of 2019. She teaches Introduction to Chemistry I and II, and General College Chemistry I and II. Carolyn also serves as the lead faculty for Introduction to Chemistry II as well as Integrated Science I.  

Carolyn enjoys working with the student population at Aims Community College and being a part of students’ progress toward their educational goals. She is passionate about sharing chemistry with her students and fostering their ability to see the chemistry in everyday life and the world around them.

Carolyn’s area of chemical expertise is biochemistry, followed by organic chemistry and analytical chemistry. Within biochemistry, Carolyn is particularly interested in integrated metabolism, inherited errors of metabolism and toxicology. 

Personal Interests

In her free time, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, snowboarding and birdwatching.
