Why Accessible Web Content and Design Matter

Aims Community College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment that is available to everyone. This includes providing access to both physical and online spaces at Aims.

As Shawn Lawton Henry, W3C Web Accessibility Initiative Program Lead once said, "Accessibility is essential for some, and useful for all." Meeting web accessibility standards offers everyone the best web experience by removing barriers and ensuring that all visitors to the website can access the information they need.

Achieving and maintaining web accessibility is a fluid process and there is room for improvement on the Aims website. However, Aims is committed to achieving conformance with AA success criteria set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

On this page you will find information about requesting disability accommodations, learning opportunities, events, regulatory requirements and more.
