Starting Fall semester 2025, the Peace Officer Academy is only open to sponsored applicants who are employed by a law enforcement agency.
Application packets will be sent directly to sponsored cadets from Formstack.
Submit sponsored applications by July 21, 2025.

Local law enforcement agencies are actively recruiting, each with its own hiring process. To become a sponsored cadet, you must first be hired or endorsed by a participating agency. That agency will then sponsor you for academy enrollment.
Follow the instructions below to apply to the Aims Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate program.
Step One: Apply to Aims Community College.
Step Two: Complete and submit your Peace Officer Academy application.
The Aims Peace Officer Academy is currently accepting only sponsored cadets. This means you must be hired by or formally sponsored through a law enforcement agency to attend. We are not accepting non-sponsored applicants at this time.
A sponsored cadet is a candidate selected by a law enforcement agency to attend the academy, often as part of a conditional offer of employment. The agency may cover tuition and other associated costs.
