Basic Peace Officer Academy Requirements
Take the next step toward becoming a police officer by earning a police academy certificate from Aims. Explore the classes that will teach you the skills you need to work in law enforcement. In one or two semesters, you'll learn basic law enforcement techniques, including arrest and control, driving and conducting investigations.
The Aims Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate program is accredited by the Colorado POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Board. The academy will prepare you to take the POST certification exam, which is required to become a certified police officer in Colorado.
Take the first step toward Police Officer Certification and earn a POST board accredited Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate at Aims, which is required to become a certified police officer in Colorado.
This certificate can be earned in one (full-time) or two (part-time) semesters.
Note: The one-semester (full-time) Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate is not financial aid eligible.
