    Associate of Applied Science
    Learn the fundamentals of 2D and 3D animation techniques, from keyframing to creating characters and character poses and then tweening (creating images “in between” frames) poses together. Practice what you’ve learned by working in teams, explore business for creatives and begin building a portfolio and learn how to market yourself to potential employers.
  • Learn to produce 2D animations and 3D models and animations using industry standard software. Learn 2D animation techniques like tweening and keyframing and develop 3D models, set lights and animate scenes.
  • Anthropology

    Associate of Arts
    Study human cultural patterns, learned behavior, linguistics, social and political organization, religion, culture and personality, culture change and the science of recovering human prehistoric and historic past through excavation, analysis, and interpretation of material remains. Learn principles of human genetics, evolution, anatomy, classification, and ecology, variation and adaptation, living primate biology and behavior, and primate and human fossil evolutionary history. This is a liberal arts degree with designation (DWD).

    Explore the Western visual arts from Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance periods up to early 20th Century to the present. Learn fundamentals of drawing and the principals and elements of 2D and 3D design. This is a liberal arts degree with designation (DWD).
  • Audio Production

    Associate of Applied Science
    Core coursework introduces you to the concepts of mass media and the principles of audio for music, film and video. Gain hands-on skills for recording, mixing, mastering, MIDI and sound design on professional digital workstations.
  • Learn basic audio production techniques such as operating audio equipment and producing tracks. Develop the fundamentals of mixing and creating a final master.
  • Build on your skills to produce live sound and advanced digital editing techniques. Master time compression, harmonic and rhythmic manipulation and sound processing with plug-ins.
  • Create your own passion project. Learn to produce sound for film and video and then demonstrate all you’ve learned with a capstone project: a self-led audio project with instructors to support you.
  • Learn the basics of 2D and 3D animation. Master storyboarding techniques, tweening, character drawing and design and animate scenes using advanced techniques seen in movies and video games.

    In-district high school students can earn this certificate in two semesters and receive dual high school and college credit.

  • This certificate is geared toward high school students in concurrent enrollment at Aims who want to learn the basics of web design. Learn design principles in page layout, navigation, typography for the web, style sheets and editing for web browsers. This is a Graphic Design and Rich Media certificate with a focus on computer information systems.
