Learning Commons
The Learning Commons is a cooperative learning space that encourages academic proficiency through resource exploration, skill development, and social connectedness. With locations on all Aims campuses, the Learning Commons' mission is to provide a comfortable learning space where students, faculty, staff, and the greater community can engage with the information experts, technology and resources they need to succeed.
You can find several important services within the Learning Commons, including:
With locations in the Learning Commons spaces on all four campuses, Aims Library Services provides access to reference materials, resources, and research and citation assistance to Aims students, faculty and staff. The Kiefer Library location on the Greeley campus provides full service, while the satellite campus locations provide limited services. Learn more at the Library Services page.
Device and Book Check-Outs
Laptops, hot spots, calculators, and other items are available to check out* short-term or up to a semester. Textbooks can be borrowed for three hours or one week on a first-come, first-served basis, and many courses at Aims offer free textbooks. Please remember that borrowing a textbook from the Learning Commons is a stop-gap method for students waiting for a textbook to arrive.

Get the academic boost you need by working with professional tutors, academic coaches, and peer mentors committed to helping you succeed in college. When you work with any of our academic support staff at Aims, you will receive personalized attention, content explanations in a wide variety of subject areas, and the opportunity to develop more confidence. Support services are available on campus or remotely. Spanish assistance is available for certain subjects.
Check out laptops, hotspots, and tablets and receive in-person and remote tech support for your Aims accounts, apps, software, documents and more. Learning Resource Technicians (LRTs) are available to provide tech support at all campus Learning Commons locations. A computer lab with Dell and Mac computers, printers and scanners is available at all campuses.
If you're taking online, remote, hybrid, or flex courses at Aims, you can access the support you need to succeed with an online learning specialist who can answer questions and help with D2L. Bilingual support is available and can be accessed in person or remotely.
