Aims Community College hosted, "The Beat Goes On" 50th Anniversary celebration on November 4, raising $55,000 to support scholarships through the Aims Foundation.
Aims Community College Raises $55,000 for Scholarships with the 50th Anniversary "Beat Goes On" Celebration

Attendees dressed in 1967 attire in celebration of Aims’ 50th Anniversary at Aims’ newest building, the Applied Technology and Trades Center in Greeley. The College has celebrated its 50th year with events each month, and the “Beat Goes On” was the capstone event for the community.
The event included silent and live auctions, along with a presentation by Carol Ruckel, Chair of the Aims Board of Trustees; Dr. Leah L. Bornstein, Aims’ CEO/President; Ned Chapin, Aims Foundation Board President; and Kelly Jackson, executive director of the Aims Foundation. Quotes:
Carol Ruckel, chair of the Aims Board of Trustees welcomed guests and said, “The Aims Board of Trustees has frozen tuition at Aims for seven consecutive years! Our goal is to provide opportunities where students can have Aims (goals) and can afford education to make their dreams come true.”
“The Beat Goes On Celebration was the perfect capstone event for an incredible year of celebrating 50 years of education with the community,” said Aims' CEO/President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “The generosity we experienced will build a stronger community by making college affordable through scholarships for students.”
Ned Chapin, the Aims Foundation Board President said, “Through education, lives have been changed for the better. The last 50 years have built a foundation of success, through education: one day at a time, one student at a time, and one family at a time. We thank each and every one of you for playing a role in Aims’ history.”
“Our students are the next generation of success,” said Kelly Jackson, executive director of the Aims Foundation. "It is through support from scholarships that they are able to reach their dreams and become a viable contributor to northern Colorado’s economic vitality.”
The event’s ultimate sponsor was Golden Triangle Construction. Out O’Sight sponsors were First National Bank and CampusWorks, and the Hip sponsor was Montgomery Electric. Coyote’s Southwestern Grill was the dinner sponsor and beverages were provided by High Country Beverage and Westlake Wine and Spirits.
