After watching the Aims EMT orientation video, complete the following steps:
If you’re not already a student, apply to Aims Community College.
- Activate your MyAims and @aims.edu student email accounts.
- Download and read the Aims EMT information packet.
- Complete the EMT Application by filling out all information, signing forms, and uploading required CPR certification and all immunizations. Incomplete applications cannot be submitted.
- After completing the EMT Application and uploading all the required documents, you’ll receive an email to complete the background check and drug screen. Once you have been sent the instructions for the background check and drug screen, a hold will be placed on your seat for 2 weeks. If you do not complete the background check and drug screen within those 2 weeks, the hold will be released on your seat. You can still complete the background check and drug screen after the 2 weeks, but your seat may have been filled, and there is no guarantee you will be able to secure a seat.
- Once a student has completed the background check and drug screen and it has been cleared by HR, the EMS Coordinator will send the student the information to register for classes and send the student’s information over to the advising team to be scheduled for a mandatory advising session. Students will not be able to register until they attend the advising session, and the advisors will help students get registered during the advising meeting.
- Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable)
Classes fill quickly for this popular program, so be sure to follow the above steps carefully. After completing these steps, you’ll be able to register for your EMS classes either online through your MyAims account or in person at an Aims campus registration site.
Email ems@aims.edu if you have any questions about applying or registering for the EMT program.
