Email Delivery Issues

Aims Community College continues to experience intermittent email delivery issues today, Friday, August 14, due to a global outage affecting the college's email security provider. Because the disruption is sporadic, earlier notifications may not have reached your inbox.

When a message is undeliverable, it is returned to the sender with an "Address not found" bounce-back error.

What to Do: For anything time-sensitive, use phone or Slack rather than email. If you receive a bounce-back notice, resend the message. But because the outage is intermittent, a resent message may also fail. Watch for a second bounce-back.

The College is working with the college's email security provider to restore full service and will send an update when service is restored, whichever comes first.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Logout of Gmail, login again, try re-sending
  2. Clear browser cookies and caches (will probably log you out of Gmail), login to Gmail, try re-sending
  3. Login to Gmail in an incognito window and try re-sending
