Short Wing Piper Club Heads to KGXY for 2026 Convention

The Short Wing Piper Club will hold its 2026 annual convention June 22-26 at Greeley-Weld County Airport in Colorado, featuring an expanded schedule of aviation activities, educational sessions, and social events. Attendees may also participate in Aims Community College Flight Training.

Aims Film and Animation Showcase Returns to Greeley Campus

Aims Community College students will show off their artistic creations on the big screen at the Aims Film and Animation Showcase. The lineup spans genres from comedy and action to drama, suspense and imaginative animated storytelling. Many of the works shown in the showcase were developed in hands-on courses emphasizing both technical proficiency and creative storytelling.

Excellence Marks the Spot

2026 UNC graduate Kyle Webber seeks to uncover the stories hidden within the lines on a map. In 2022, he enrolled at Aims Community College and it was here that his childhood knack for map-making would take on a new, scientific form. After studying at Aims for around a year and a half, continuing to take a variety of courses in GIS, mapping and geography, he transferred to UNC through the Aims2UNC program to pursue a degree in what he loved.

High Plains Students Explore Aviation Careers at Loveland School

Students at High Plains School had the chance to explore the skies Tuesday during Aviation Day, a partnership with Aims Community College to expose young people to careers in aviation.

High School Students Get Taste of Homebuilding With Job-Site Tour

Students from local high schools spent a morning touring homes under construction in a new subdivision in Windsor, to get an inside look at the building process. Many students are in concurrent enrollment construction programs with Aims and some will continue to get associate's degrees from Aims Community College.

Ciara Stastny just allows students to use AI in the business classes she teaches at Colorado Early Colleges Fort Collins High School; she’s teaching them how to use it to enhance her instruction and deepen their learning.  This concurrent enrollment business course is aligned with Aims Community College.

Aims Community College Recognized for Outstanding Events

Aims Community College recently won an award for its Spotlight Speaker Series, a four-part program that brought world-class thought leadership and transformative dialogue to Northern Colorado.The Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International named Aims the winner of the Outstanding Institutional Achievement Award for a Single Event.

Meeting a Need, Fueling the Future

Aims debuted an oil and gas program in 2012 with the goal of helping people gain the critical skills needed to be employed in an evolving industry. The oil and gas program, now paired with an industrial technology program, boasts a combined total of 150 enrollees. It’s a number that could easily double in the coming years.

National Group Gives Aims College Gold for Veteran Care

Aims Community College was recognized as a Gold-Level Military Friendly School, earning the 2026-2027 designation. Military Friendly is a group that rates companies, businesses and colleges for their accommodation of veterans.

Three Weld County high schoolers had the real-world welding skills to claim honors at the Aims Community College Skills Day competition on April 3. Aims Community College and Greeley-Evans School District 6 joined forces to host the third annual Skills Day.

At Aims Community College in Windsor, a newly FAA-approved curriculum offers students a shorter — and affordable — path to the in-demand positions. The FAA recently approved a beefed-up curriculum designed to fast-track candidates into a job so in-demand that the agency estimates it will fill nearly 7,000 positions over the next three years.
