Gain Construction Management Skills With the Construction Management Certificate Program at Aims

Certificates offer the chance to explore a subject and build skills in less time than it takes to complete a degree program. You can also study a specific technique to build new career skills by earning a certificate.

Aims offers six construction certificates covering different aspects of building construction and systems oversight, including a carpentry certificate and a green and sustainable building certificate.

These certificates can also serve as a starting point to begin an associate degree in construction management program at Aims. 

Basic Structural Properties Certificate

This construction management certificate program teaches you mathematical principles and applications in construction. Gain skills in technical mathematics and material statics and strengths.

Row Groupings Certificate Requirements: Credits

Provides an algebra-based investigation of concepts in statics and strengths of materials. Topics include a study of fundamental mechanical properties of materials, single planar forces, properties of sections, and two-dimensional free body, shear, and bending moment diagrams. Course is not repeatable for credit.

MAT 1150 or MAT 1340 with a grade of "C" or better

Covers mathematical material designed for career and technical students. Topics include measurement, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and vectors. These are presented at an introductory level and the emphasis is on applications. Course readiness is determined by review of high school transcripts, assessment, and/or meeting with an Aims Academic Advisor. Course is not repeatable for credit.

Gain skills to prepare for work as a construction manager. Study construction project management principles, including project tracking and control methods and budget and cost analysis and learn various construction project scheduling methods.

Green/Sustainable Building Certificate

Learn about construction management in the fields of renewable and sustainable design and construction. Study solar, geothermal and wind renewable energy construction, LEED certification, passive thermal architecture, super insulation and tight envelopes.
