Pathways:
  • Public Safety and Transportation
  • Emergency medical responders are entry-level EMS providers. The emergency medical responder certificate combines classroom training and an internship to teach you basic emergency lifesaving interventions while awaiting an additional EMS response.
  • If you are an EMT or AEMT, the paramedic preparation certificate prepares you to apply for the Aims paramedic certificate program. Study EMT fundamentals, medical and trauma emergencies, IV/IO therapy, and basic anatomy and physiology.
  • If you are an EMT or AEMT, the pre-paramedic certificate will prepare you to apply for the Aims paramedic associate degree program. Study the courses required to apply for the paramedic program, including general education requirements, EMT fundamentals, medical and trauma emergencies, IV/IO therapy, and basic anatomy and physiology.
  • Learn how automobile engines work and how to repair them with a hands-on lab course in the Aims auto shop. Study cylinder head, valve-train and cooling components, learn how to disassemble and rebuild an engine, and gain skills in engine sealing and repair techniques.

    This certificate covers Firefighter I training and Hazmat Operations Level I without the EMT Training.
  • Advance your career into fire department management with this officer training certificate. Develop oral communication, training, management and leadership skills as they apply to fire departments.
  • Fire Science

    Associate of Applied Science
    Gain the skills tested for Firefighter I and II certification and hazardous materials (hazmat) training along with driving, hydraulics, health and instructional methodologies. Learn how to anticipate fire behavior, analyze conditions and determine the safest course of action, hone quick thinking and effective response and make fire service a more valuable community resource.
  • Firefighter II is a great way to advance your firefighting knowledge and qualifies you to take the Firefighter II test.
  • General Aviation Pilot

    Associate of Applied Science
    Get experience in private pilot flight training and instrument rating, which teaches you to fly in more difficult weather conditions. Learn the fundamentals of commercial small aircraft or multi-engine aircraft flight and build the communication and professional skills that will help you launch your career in aviation.
