Raelle Rives, a Public Safety Specialist with Aims CCS and a Sergeant First Class serving as an Observer-Coach/Trainer for the U.S. Army Reserves, nominated her supervisors for an ESGR Patriot Award.

A ceremony was held at Aims Community College on January 26 to present the awards to:

  • John Fults, Campus Safety and Security Director
  • Les Wiemers, Campus Safety and Security Assistant Director
  • Erik Larson, Logistics & Safety Officer

“We are grateful to support Raelle and her duty to serve the country,” Fults said. “It was a surprise to receive the award because we truly value each other as family. Supporting each other comes naturally.”

The CSS team supports Rives and her monthly commitment to the Army Reserves. In February, Rives will be sent on a year-long mission. Fults said, “The CSS team will miss her while she’s deployed.”

Rives nominated her supervisors to say, “You guys are doing awesome and thank you.” She believes that the team has always been supportive and accommodated her military service. “I appreciate their help and their support through this,” she said.
