Performances run from April 17 to 26 at Aims Community College. ACT will present both evening and matinee performances in the Ed Beaty Hall Theater on the Aims Community College Greeley Campus, 5203 W. 20th Street.

About the Show
“Side Show” is a production of the Tony-nominated musical based on the remarkable true story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, conjoined twins who rose from a carnival sideshow to vaudeville stardom. With a soaring score and a story centered on acceptance and connection, “Side Show” explores what it means to belong.
Benjamin Kessler, Aims Theatre Director and Instructor, said the production feels especially timely. “This felt like the right time to produce ‘Side Show’ because our students and community are navigating a world where difference can feel isolating,” Kessler said. “The musical reminds us that ‘different’ isn’t bad — it’s simply different.”
Kessler said the show highlights the shared experiences that connect people. “What ultimately connects us is our hopes, our fears and our need for belonging,” he said. “The show asks us to look beyond labels and recognize the common ground that makes us part of a collective human story.”
Now in its ninth production, Aims Community Theatre continues to bring student-driven performances to campus and the surrounding community.
Kessler said the cast has embodied the show’s themes throughout the rehearsal process. “This production has become its own example of found family,” he said. “The cast has created a rehearsal space rooted in trust, care and mutual encouragement.”
He said audiences can expect a moving and reflective experience. “I hope audiences leave with a deeper sense of empathy and compassion,” Kessler said. “We never truly know what someone else is facing, but by showing up for one another, we strengthen our communities.”
