Aims Student Art Show: Showcasing Shapes, Figures and Inspiration in Loveland
Discover the incredible artistic talent of Aims students and connect with the artists at this reception. Attend this free event and enjoy light refreshments.
“When you come to the Aims art show, you’re uplifting our students and celebrating who they are and what they have to say through their art,” said Sarah Cameron, Campus Coordinator of the Loveland Campus and the art show organizer. “Some students are taking an art class for the first time and for others, this is their lifelong dream. That range is what makes the show so special.”
This year’s theme, Shapes and Figures, challenges students to explore who inspires them and what shapes their identity as people and artists. The exhibition features a wide range of work, including painting, graphic art, drawings, photography, sculpture and more. This juried exhibition showcases the exceptional talent of Aims students and gives them experience presenting their work in a professional gallery environment. The Best in Show winner receives an Aims Community College scholarship of up to $350. Other honorable mentions across multiple categories also receive prizes.
The opening reception coincides with Loveland’s Night on the Town Art Walk, a popular monthly event celebrating local art and culture held on the second Friday of each month. “Loveland is an incredibly artistic community, known nationwide for its sculpture work,” Cameron said. “Because our campus is downtown, we want to celebrate that art culture and be part of it.”
Construction is underway in Downtown Loveland to revitalize 4th Street. Please refer to the parking map to find the best place to park and access the Aims Loveland Campus.
The Aims Student Art Show is open to the public through June 5, giving visitors additional time to see the creativity of Aims students.
