Program Admission Requirements

Now offering Fall and Spring starts

The Medical Billing and Coding Certificate is a new two-semester program that will be offered in both the fall and spring semesters. The program does not offer any classes in the summer.

How to Apply to the Aims Medical Billing and Coding Certificate Program

  1. Apply to Aims.
  2. Declare your intention to enter the Medical Billing and Coding Certificate program.
  3. Meet with the Medical Billing and Coding Advisor, Stephany Wood: email stephany.wood@aims.edu or call (970) 378-3596.
  4. Complete all onboarding requirements, resolve any holds in Workday and finish any outstanding tasks.
  5. Attend an information session before the semester starts.
    1. October 27, 2026 at 4 p.m.- Welcome Center Ballroom C 
  6. You must provide ONE of these examples of proof of reading and math assessment in order to move forward with registration.  To schedule the Accuplacer tests, please contact the Testing Center at assessment@aims.edu.
    1. ACT Reading score of 17 or better and ACT Math Score of 19 or better
    2. SAT Reading and Writing Score of 470 or better and SAT Math Score of 500 or better
    3. Transcript showing you completed a college-level English and Math class with a C or better
    4. Accuplacer Reading score of 241 or higher and Accuplacer Math Score of 265 or higher
