Important Program Information

The program is short - 1 semester, however it is 17 credits and a full-time requirement. When the semester begins, students will have an online class for the first 5 weeks of the semester. This is a fast and furious 24 chapter book - so students can plan on completing a chapter a day for this time. In addition, for the same 5 weeks, students will be on the Greeley campus 5 days a week for 3 hours a day to attend lab. This is the hands-on, skills practice that is needed for students to be assigned a clinical site. After the 5 weeks of class and lab, pending successful completion, students will start an internship that will be 40 hours a week for 10 weeks. The shifts are typically Monday-Friday and start early in the morning. A few sites have alternate times, but not many.  Our clinical sites are located all over Northern Colorado and into Wyoming. We have sites in Cheyenne, Fort Collins, Loveland, Longment, Estes Park, Greeley, Fort Morgan, and several in Denver, including Aurora, Children's Hospital, Medical Center of Aurora and University Hospital.  Students do not get to choose which site they go to. Most students live close to Greeley which means most students will be driving at least an hour to and from your clinical site each day and will need money for gas and reliable transportation. We do not schedule around daycare or employment needs.
