Morgan Bland

Instructor, Microbiology

Educational Background

  • 2020 - Master of Science - Microbiology and Immunology
  • 2019 - Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology

Professional Background

Morgan has always had a passion for the little things which led her to pursue a degree in microbiology. During her undergraduate career, she worked in a pathology laboratory supporting pathologists diagnosing cancer based on cell morphology. After graduating with her Master of Science in 2020, she joined a study with CSU to determine the spread and genetic drift of Covid-19 within nursing facilities.

Her education led her to a biopharmaceutical company, where she worked as a quality control associate and head environmental monitor. She gained experience in applying microbiology to maintain sterility of work environments, study and test vaccines for purity, and communicate complex research results to the client. Now her passion has brought her to education where she can share her experiences with others on their own scientific journeys!

Current Interests

Morgan wants to dive into the world of pedagogy and better understand how to create an active learning environment for her students. She loves hearing the excitement in students' voices when they are solving case studies or streaking a plate in the lab. Her hope is to one day get a Ph.D. in Education so she can study techniques to make STEM classes more engaging.
