Aims Community College Students Place at National SkillsUSA Workforce Development Event

Three Aims Community College students competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference from June 1–5 in Atlanta, Georgia.

2026 SkillsUSA post-secondary Facility Management medalists. Aims student Diana Perry (center) earned the silver medal at the national competition in Atlanta.

Students participated in automotive collision repair technology events. The competition included an orientation, familiarization activities, written testing, job interviews and hands-on competition. “Everyone was a little nervous, but they were ready to showcase their abilities,” said Mike Hanscome, an Aims automotive instructor and advisor for the SkillsUSA team at Aims. “Conversations with judges and committee members were very encouraging, as they were impressed with our students' knowledge, professionalism and skill sets.”

  • Diana Perry earned the silver medal in post-secondary Facility Management, finishing second. 
     
  • Cloud Kline placed fourth in the post-secondary Collision Damage Appraisal competition. 
     
  • Megan Pierret placed sixth in the post-secondary Automotive Refinishing category. 

The SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference remains an incredible experience, offering students opportunities to demonstrate their technical skills, professionalism and commitment to their chosen career paths. Aims Automotive's national medal count includes 18 podium finishes and 11 National Championships in its 13 years of competing in SkillsUSA.

Aims Community College's automotive degree programs are nationally recognized and certified in secondary and postsecondary education systems and are accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation.
