“Dr. DeCosmo brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to student success and a strong understanding of our college,” said Aims President and CEO Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “Her collaborative leadership and forward-thinking approach will help shape the future of learning at Aims and ensure our academic programs continue to meet the evolving needs of our students and communities.”
Before joining Aims, DeCosmo spent 13 years at Front Range Community College, serving as dean of instruction, mathematics department chair and a faculty member. Earlier in her career, she led statewide initiatives in developmental education redesign, equity-minded teaching, STEM pathways, and math curriculum alignment, collaborating closely with faculty and student services to improve outcomes for underrepresented students.
DeCosmo earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Education in Mathematics Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Saint Mary’s College.
As vice president of Academic Affairs and chief academic officer, DeCosmo will work closely with Aims leadership, faculty, staff, students and community partners to guide academic strategy and ensure Aims continues providing high-quality educational opportunities that meet the evolving needs of Northern Colorado.
