    Associate of Applied Science
    Study the petroleum industry and duties and responsibilities of oil and gas production technicians and process technicians, their work environment, equipment, systems and instruments as well as energy technologies in use and in development today. Learn about construction site hazards and unsafe practices, related health and safety regulations and standards, and loss and theft prevention.
  • Paramedic

    Associate of Applied Science
    Study advanced concepts in cardiology, including EKG concepts, rhythms and diagnoses, advanced pharmacology, IV fluid therapy, and medical and trauma emergencies with lectures coinciding with a hands-on emergency scenario lab session. Clinical rotations give you hands-on training in a wide variety of hospital departments.
  • If you are an EMT or AEMT, the paramedic certificate program prepares you to become a paramedic who provides advanced emergency medical care to EMS patients. Study paramedic fundamentals and special considerations, advanced pharmacology and cardiology, and medical and trauma emergencies.
  • Peace Officer Academy

    Career & Technical Degree
    Take the first step toward Police Officer Certification and earn a POST board accredited police academy certificate at Aims, which is required to become a certified police officer in Colorado. In two semesters, learn basic law enforcement techniques, including arrest and control, driving, and conducting investigations. This certificate can be earned in 1 or 2 semesters. The 1 semester Peace Officer Academy Certificate is not Financial Aid eligible.
  • The Aims Peace Officer Academy Certificate program gives you the expert training to become a police officer at one of the lowest tuition rates in Colorado. The academy will also prepare you to take the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) exam, which is required in order to work as a police officer.
  • Gain the skills to become a phlebotomist at a hospital, clinic, lab or medical practice. Study and practice venipuncture, capillary puncture and special collection procedures, and learn quality control, infection prevention and laboratory computer systems.
  • Learn basic and advanced pipe welding techniques. Gain skills in evaluating and solving complex welding and fabrication problems.
  • Learn the fundamentals of plastics analysis related to automotive damage repair. Learn inspection and repair of plastic body components and other plastic items found in today’s vehicles.
  • Police Studies

    Associate of Applied Science
    Working as a police officer requires honesty and integrity when working with the public and conducting investigations. The Aims Police studies program teaches you how to deal with the challenges and highlights of police work as you undergo rigorous physical and academic training to prepare for the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) exam.
  • This optional 4-credit certificate course allows you to transition out of the nursing associate degree program by earning a practical nursing certificate. Study the scope of practice for a practical nurse, including communication, ethical and legal issues, and leadership skills while gaining experience in a clinical setting.

    Upon passing this certificate course, you’ll be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Students need to be enrolled in or have completed a nursing program to register for this certificate.
