The Communication Media Department at Aims prepares you for a dynamic career in today's evolving media landscape through hands-on, industry-focused training. Whether your passion is storytelling, radio or television broadcasting, audio or video production, social media or digital content creation, our programs give you the technical skills and creative experience to succeed. 


Audio Production

If you dream of working in sound design for radio, music, and video production, the Audio Production degree program at Aims gives you the skills to work in professional studios. Gain hands-on experience using state-of-the art equipment, including practice producing for Aims Student Radio.

Audio Production Faculty

Aims Audio Production staff are industry professionals with experience as musicians, producers and sound engineers. Your instructors have worked on both sides of the microphone and are eager to share first-hand experience and knowledge to prepare you for a career in the field.

Journalism

Take your passion for learning and storytelling and gain the skills to become a journalist. Learn research, interviewing, reporting, writing style and more. Aims offers two journalism degrees, one designed to transfer to a four-year school and the other that allows you to enter the workforce in two years.

Learn the professional skills a journalist needs to work in a fast-paced media landscape from experienced instructors who are invested in your success. Smaller class sizes give you personalized attention from your instructors and opportunities to share ideas and collaborate with classmates.

Radio Production

If you're interested in music, hosting a show or working behind the scenes in radio, the Radio Production degree at Aims gives you the skills you need to start a career in radio. Learn how to operate radio station equipment, production and editing methods and discover career opportunities.  

Radio Production Faculty

Learn essential radio skills from instructors with industry experience who are invested in your success. Classes have a maximum of 16 students to help you get personalized instruction getting hands-on experience using state-of-the art equipment.

Television & Video Production

From television screens to mobile devices, television and video are a popular creative and educational outlets. Learn technical skills including outlining scenes, directing video shoots and completing post-production tasks and prepare for a career in this dynamic industry.

Video entertainment and information are in high demand, and the industry needs skilled editors and special effects professionals. Learn the latest video editing and special effects software and develop your unique video editing style in a program designed to prepare you for a career in the industry.
