This class is designed for anyone, regardless of medical training, who needs a course completion card for their job or to be prepared for emergencies in any setting. It benefits those who spend time outdoors or in the mountains, providing essential skills for handling emergencies in remote settings. The topics include basic first aid, emergency management before EMS arrival, prevention of illness and injury in critical situations, adult CPR, AED operation, and response to opioid-related incidents. A course completion card, valid for two years, is awarded after successfully passing the course, giving people the confidence to handle any emergency.
Aims has offered American Heart Association-accredited CPR and first aid classes in English for many years, but only started offering them in Spanish last year. These non-credit courses are open to all, cover basic life-saving techniques and provide certification for healthcare professionals and the general public. Throughout the fall, classes are available in Greeley, Windsor, Fort Lupton, Loveland and online.
