Launched in 2010, Live in Studio A connects the local music community with Aims students. Together, they record and edit live performances in a professional studio setting. The results: high-quality audio and video content that artists can use for promotion, and real-world experience that students can feature on their demo reels.

Aims offers degrees and certificates in Television & Video ProductionAudio ProductionVideo Editing & Effects. Live in Studio A offers projects for students in those programs to work in real‑world scenarios as a team. “For students, it’s a chance to work under pressure and learn what live production feels like,” says Dev Multer, Aims’ Media Production Coordinator. “Whether they're directing, operating a camera, or mixing sound, they walk away with valuable, career-ready skills.”

Patrick Hesse, manager of the Aims Radio Station and a Live in Studio A performer, adds, “This is often the moment it clicks for students; they see how everything they’ve learned comes together in a real-world scenario.”

Patrick Hesse

Patrick Hesse admits, “music’s been my thing for as long as I can remember.” Growing up, he fell in love with everything from rock and folk to country, blues, and jazz. Patrick eventually picked up the guitar and piano to “play it all.” Over the years, he turned that passion into performing live for audiences big and small. One of Patrick’s favorite moments was playing at the Denver Nuggets halftime show. But whether it’s a packed arena or a cozy backyard party, his goal is always the same: to play great songs people love and help create a special vibe for the moment.

Patrick covers hits from the ‘60s to today and brings a laid-back, easygoing style (with a little humor) to every gig. With over 62 five-star reviews on GigSalad, he is proud to be someone people trust to make events memorable.
