As a computer science degree student at Aims, you’ll fulfill general general education coursework requirements as well as earning 8-12 credits in the discipline of programming and computer science. Working with your Pathway Advisor to choose the courses that best align with your educational and professional goals will prepare you to successfully transfer to a four-year institution in Colorado to study computer science.*
General education requirements round out your learning experience and reinforce the practical soft skills employers want. Study subjects including math, natural and physical science, social and behavioral science, English composition, art and humanities, and history.
A Note About Selecting Computer Science Classes for Transfer Degree
If you're planning on transferring to CSU, you're encouraged to take CSC 1060 using the JAVA programming language.
Most other four-year colleges prefer students to take CSC 1060 programming with C++ (or do not have a language preference).
