Program Destinations

This is more than just a trip—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture, make lifelong friends and create memories that will stay with you forever.

The Summer 2027 Ireland program will include visits to the following locations:

Bundoran, Donegal

A charming and vibrant surf town on Ireland’s stunning northwest coast, Bundoran is known for its friendly atmosphere and breathtaking scenery. The town offers plenty of free outdoor activities, from strolling along scenic coastal trails to relaxing on the beach. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try surfing some of Europe’s best waves, go bowling or check out the local water and amusement parks.

Derry

Located on the banks of the River Foyle, this historic Northern Ireland city is famous for its well-preserved 17th-century city walls, which encircle the old town and offer stunning views. Derry played a key role in Irish and British history, particularly during the Troubles. Today, it is a vibrant cultural hub with a rich heritage, a thriving arts scene and landmarks such as the Guildhall and the Peace Bridge.

Dublin

A city where rich history meets a lively, modern culture, Dublin is home to world-renowned universities and iconic literary landmarks. Offering an unforgettable learning experience in the heart of Europe, Dublin's friendly locals and easy access to breathtaking landscapes make it the perfect destination to study, explore and grow.

Travel Dates

June 19-July 2, 2027

I remember first learning about the Aims study abroad program at a Fall‑In booth during the 2025 Fall‑In event. At the time, it felt like a brief and unexpected moment, one of many conversations at the start of the semester, but it stayed with me. Learning that Aims was launching its very first study abroad program sparked a sense of curiosity and possibility. What began as a simple interaction gradually developed into a meaningful goal. Now, being part of the inaugural group traveling to Ireland feels both exciting and rewarding. This experience, I believe, represents not only the opportunity to explore a new country but also the chance to grow beyond the classroom and contribute to a program that will shape future global connections and learning opportunities for Aims students.

Cost and Inclusions

The total program fee for the study abroad experience is $5,000. This cost includes tuition, airfare, lodging, ground transportation in Ireland, travel insurance, entrance to activities, and two meals per day in Ireland.

Don’t let this cost stop you from applying — please see the financial aid page. Submitting an application does not commit you to pay the program fee. It simply lets us know you’re interested, and opens the door to potential financial support.

Other Costs to Consider

Deposit: Students must submit a $100 nonrefundable deposit by February 1, 2027, to reserve their seat in the program.

Passport:  $165 for new and renewing applications. Additional fees apply if expedited service is requested.

UK Electronic Travel Authorization: In order to cross the border into Northern Ireland for our excursion in Derry, students will need to apply for the UK ETA. The current cost is £20 (or about $28 as of April 2026). Students will be guided through this application during orientation.

Lunches/Snacks/Miscellaneous: Two meals per day are provided while in Ireland. Students will be responsible for their own lunches on most days and during our travel days (e.g., at the airport). Students will have access to a kitchen to prepare or pack lunches on most days. Students may want to budget for miscellaneous items such as laundry, over-the-counter medications, or toiletries.

Recreation (Optional): We will be staying near a bowling alley, arcade and other attractions. Students may wish to bring money for entrance to those attractions. Entrance fees to all planned excursions required for your course are included in your tuition and fees.

Souvenirs (Optional): Students may wish to bring money for souvenirs to bring home.
