Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals

To remain eligible for financial aid, students must progress steadily toward the completion of their academic program. Students must maintain at least a 2.0-grade point average AND complete 67 percent of the credits they have attempted while working toward graduation. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is checked at the time the FAFSA is received and at the end of each academic term.

A. Go to www.studentlingo.com/aims and select a video that will enrich your success at Aims. Save the Certificate of Completion for upload.
B. Write a two to three paragraph explanation of the extenuating circumstances that impacted your success at Aims (This explanation will need to be copied and pasted into Workday).
C. Write a detailed outline of your plan for corrective action using the knowledge you gained from the Student Lingo video you watched.
D. Gather any supporting documentation (Dr. notes, obituary, communication from instructor)
E. Once complete upload to Workday using the instructions on Workday Resources

For Maxtime SAP Appeal - follow the same instructions above but be sure to include - a statement signed by your Advisor detailing the exact number of credits needed to complete your degree and graduate, this will be uploaded to Workday along with the above requirements.

Needing to withdraw?  Call or email the Office of Financial Aid, we would be happy to calculate your completion rate.  Completion rates are cumulative - determined by dividing the completed number of credits by the attempted number of credits.  Completion rate percentages must be at 67% or above to remain eligible for financial aid.

Please note:

  • Incomplete appeals may be sent back or denied
  • If your appeal is approved, you will receive an action item via Workday to agree to the conditions of your SAP Appeal
