Watch your email for instructions to activate your Okta account (email will come from okta-noreply@aims.edu). It will be sent to the personal email account you used to apply to Aims. Okta is a one-stop shop for all the software applications (Okta tiles) you may use at Aims.
Two Okta tiles that you’ll need to know about right away are Google Workspace Mail (your Aims email) and Workday.
You must activate your account within 48 hours of receiving the email. If you miss this 48-hour window, please call our Help Desk at (970) 339-6380.
To have your college credit transferred from another institution, please send your official transcript to the address listed below as soon as possible. The sooner your transcripts are received, the sooner they can be evaluated for progress toward your degree. Meeting with your advisor to select classes at Aims will be most helpful after you have sent your official transcript to Registration and Records.

Note: a transcript is only considered official if it is sent directly to Aims from your previous college (electronically) or arrives in a sealed envelope (physical mail). Transcripts that have been opened before delivery to Aims and electronic transcripts that are sent to the student first and then forwarded to Aims will both be considered unofficial.
Once you’ve logged into Okta, click on the Workday tile (or application). You will be prompted to work through a series of steps under the heading “Awaiting your Action” to ensure you are setting up your student account at Aims.
Sign up to attend orientation right before the semester starts. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged, and if necessary, online is available.
This is optional, but it's free to apply.
Complete the FAFSA or CASFA to receive federal or state financial aid, checking the websites for current deadlines.
You may qualify for:
- Follow the application deadlines to apply for grants and scholarships (generally, not paid back) The Aims Foundation scholarship application period is open each year from November 1st to April 1st. Apply here.
- Loans (must be paid back)
- Work-study (work part-time to earn money while attending Aims)
It's best to apply at least two months before classes begin. Many students apply as early as January to get help paying for classes that start in August.
Once you've applied for financial aid, you can apply for scholarships at Aims. The Aims Foundation Scholarships deadline is March 1.
Once you’ve shared your academic history, you’re ready to meet with your Pathway Advisor. You can view your Advisor’s information in your support network in Workday by following the directions provided in your new student onboarding step called “Reminder to Schedule Appointment with Advising” or call (970) 339-6443.
Once you’ve met with your advisor, you can register for classes online in your Workday account.
